Why does scriptForPI.py crash when restoring older calibrations in CASA versions 4.7.0 and above?
09 February 2017 07:17 PM

Due to a change in CASA, the task hif_restoredata now searches for calibration files with the extension *.tgz. Data products that were produced using CASA versions prior to 4.7.0 contain calibration files with the extension *.tar.gz. This leads scriptForPI.py to crash with the error:

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '../rawdata/uid___A002_X12345_X1234.ms.flagversions.tgz

scriptForPI.py can be run in CASA versions 4.7.0 and above by changing the extension names of the caltables and flagversions files in the calibration directory.

For example:

mv uid___A002_X12345_X1234.ms.flagversions.tar.gz uid___A002_X12345_X1234.ms.flagversions.tgz

mv uid___A002_X12345_X1234.session_1.caltables.tar.gz uid___A002_X12345_X1234.session_1.caltables.tgz
