This Knowledgebase article is a repository for information relevant to submission of Cycle 6 proposals. These items may affect how users write their proposals or set up their observations in the OT. The content may evolve rapidly as the 19 April, 2018 proposal deadline approaches. Items added to this list after its initial deployment will include the date they were added. We encourage all PIs to check back here regularly prior to proposal submission.

There is a bug in Java 9 which prevents the OT from opening when you try to run it.
If you are having issues with the "loading resources" screen freezing.
If you are trying to start the OT on Windows and not succeeding.
If you receive a warning when validating your proposal that reads "The estimated time for all visits is greater than the limit (max 50.00 hours)" please know that this is a warning so you will still be able to submit the proposal. This warning has nothing to do with the large program limit. The OT is only issuing a warning if the total time for multiple visits exceeds 50 hours regardless of the type of project.
Currently the Resolve button is not working on the Field setup tab of the OT.
To resolve source names, the OT uses a service called Sesame which is provided by SIMBAD.We have informed Simbad that there are problems. If they do not fix it quickly, PIs will have to manually enter the information from either SIMBAD or NED into the OT.
